Diary Entry: Hitched Mold, Ruthin, Llanfair Llangollen with Rosemary. Diary notes: KPD spoke of hitching during WW2 in later life, saying that wearing a uniform made it easier. These hitches today were over 40 miles in all.

Diary Entry: Bathed Grahame. Returned Horsley Rosemary Field there. Diary notes: Horsley was where KPD had worked with the ATS previously; Rosemary Field was a friend from pre-War days.

Diary Entry: Helped Peggy with Grahame & Wendy to Orpington. Anthony came across London with us. Diary notes: ‘Grahame’ refers to Grahame Dell, then a small baby (3 months old). His only sibling wasn’t born until 1944, so Wendy may have been a friend or maid, or perhaps someone helping with childcare.
