Diary Entry: Went to theatre. N [Nancy] away. Diary notes: Presumably KPD had to go on her own! Unfortunately KPD doesn’t tell us what she went to see!

Diary Entry: Tea & theatre Nancy. Diary notes: Nancy was a friend, presumably in the A.T.S., with whom KPD socialised regularly during the war years.

Diary Entry: Bused to Llandudno. Tea there. Diary notes: This was a Sunday and as KPD normally attended church one wonders whether she did in Llandudno. ‘Tea’ was always an important occasion for KPD and frequently gets a mention, as today.

Diary Entry: Went to Loggerheads with Jean Gander & walked back to Mold. Diary notes: Loggerheads to Mold is over 40 miles, so this is an impressive walk if accurately described here! Jean Gander was one of KPD’s A.T.S. friends, and is mentioned several times in her diaries.
