Diary Entry: Left Linton. Went to Ufford to stay Tindalls. Grahame lovely. Diary notes: The Tindalls were the parents and family of Peggy Dell – Anthony (KPD’s brother) had married Peggy (1910-1991), his first wife and mother of his two children, Grahame & Jennifer. Their home, Hill House at Ufford was at Woodbridge in Suffolk.

Diary Entry: Went to Little Linton, stay Dulcie Leggett. Diary notes: Dulcie was a former Nanny, and was a good friend of KPD, both before and after her marriage. Her son, Paul Rupert Leggett, was KPD’s godson. ‘Little Linton’ is in Cambridgeshire.

Diary Entry: Leave. Arrived Orp[ington] nearly midnight. Diary notes: As usual KPD uses her leave to return home to Orpington to stay with her widowed mother and younger sister. Diary notes: ‘Flora’ is Flora Gardner, a friend from a family living near Berkhamsted, where KPD had lived years before, now living near Llangollen. ‘Vron’, near Wrexham, included a colliery (also called ‘Vron’).
