Diary Entry: Returned Wembley evening. Diary notes: Following whatever filming duties had taken her to Brighton and the South Downs, KPD went back to north London.

Diary Entry: To Battersea, back Wembley twice. Down Brighton, stayed Preston Bks. Saw Martin. Diary notes: ‘Martin’ is  Martin Dell (1904-1958), KPD’s eldest brother; During the war he served in the Home Front with the Honourable Artillery Company, reaching the rank of Major.

Diary Entry: Back Wembley. Tea Mr & Mrs Dobbs Diary notes: No indication of who ‘Mr & Mrs Dobbs’ might be – possibly KPD was lodging with them?

Diary Entry: Went on location to Sheringham. Stopped Newmarket & Norwich. Stayed “Grand Hotel”    Bathed. Diary notes: Presumably the filming was gong on at the coast. Sheringham is 145 plus miles from Wembley.  The Grand Hotel, now sadly demolished, was an imposing building on the Esplanade in Sheringham. Diary Entry: Hove for day. Diary notes: A return trip of 160 or so miles. 

Diary Entry: Maintenance. Took men film show Stanmore Diary notes: Presumably the maintenance was completed  in time for KPD to take the ‘men’ to the film show. 

Diary Entry: Shooting Camberley. Called Cardwalles. Diary notes: This must be a reference to ‘shooting’ a film! See the blog for 14th June 1944 for more details of KPD’s work. 

Diary Entry: Went Chipperfield, Beaconsfield Diary notes: Beaconsfield is about 12 miles from Chipperfield. 

Diary Entry: Gerrards X [‘Cross’] for night. Diary notes: Dulcia & Ian McDiarmid lived at Gerrards Cross and were friends of KPD’s mother, and of KPD herself.

Diary Entry: Biked see M. Preston & Nurse p.m. Diary notes: This must have referred to friends or A.T.S. colleagues.
