Diary Entry: To Battersea, back Wembley twice. Down Brighton, stayed Preston Bks. Saw Martin. Diary notes: ‘Martin’ is Martin Dell (1904-1958), KPD’s eldest brother; During the war he served in the Home Front with the Honourable Artillery Company, reaching the rank of Major.

Diary Entry: Went on location to Sheringham. Stopped Newmarket & Norwich. Stayed “Grand Hotel” Bathed. Diary notes: Presumably the filming was gong on at the coast. Sheringham is 145 plus miles from Wembley. The Grand Hotel, now sadly demolished, was an imposing building on the Esplanade in Sheringham.
