Diary Entry: Started rushes 7am. Frances came later. Diary notes: ‘Rushes’ refers to the raw film shot during one day. Taking them back to the studio at the end of the day was an important part of KPD’s regular work at this time.

Diary Entry: Hitched to Camberley to see Bonsey & then home for night. Diary notes: ‘Bonsey’ was clearly a friend KPD made in the A.T.S., and with whom KPD spent some of her leisure time. This is the last mention of her in KPD’s diaries.

Diary Entry: On rushes. To see José hospital Woolwich. Diary notes: José [McLelland]was a friend of KPD, and probably also in the A.T.S. KPD socialised with her, and even went on holidays with her over some years. It is unclear why she was in hospital.
