Diary Entry: “Went to town for interview & home. Hectic journey back”. Diary notes: ‘Town’ is London, and again KPD was looking to move on from her job. Given that we were 13 months into the Second World War and the ‘Blitz’ had just started, one can only imagine what the descriptive ‘hectic’ actually hides!
